Hacking and Painting

There I am, in my art room,
hacking and painting.
Probably not a good pairing.

The cough, cough, cough,
(and if you've read my coughing blogs before,
you know it really is cough, cough, cough.
Never a single cough here.)
and the cadmium red and cobalt blue;
probably an explosive combination.
Not to mention turpentine.
Don't worry, I left the window open
to the freezing wild windy air.

Because for every cough, cough, cough out,
there is a gasp, gasp, gasp in.

Ultramarine blue on my hands,
titanium white in my fingernails,
cadmium yellow in my wedding ring.

I drew the composition over and over
in the bulletin at church,
trying to get the composition right.
It helped.
I can listen AND draw.

Oh, well,
I painted didn't I!?
That's the most important thing.
AMEN!

I want to start painting (oils, acrylics) again.
Can you HELP me please?
I have a half-finished painting studio/exercise room.
Perhaps it would help if the damn thing got finished first, eh?
(just sign me: Frustrated in the Foothills)

Nah, don't wait til it's finished!
Just shove the clutter back and start painting!
That's the advice from the procrastinating, messy painter.
