Vegetable Garden Goals

In springtime the gardeners are exhuberant!
They visualize a cornucopia of bounty in the fall!
~~~~~~
They are purchasing hundreds of seeds: 11 packets of pumpkin seeds, (Mammoth) 12 packets of sunflower seeds (Mammoth), 9 packets of tomato seeds (Mammoth), and several packs of peppers, bush beans and cucumbers. Thus the intensive labor in the vegetable garden tasks begin!
Starting in March:
  1. amending the soil
  2. planting
  3. cultivating
  4. watering
Then April and June:
  1. fertilizing
  2. watering (wait...I forgot, it rained all spring!)
  3. ever so carefully re-planting tiny plants into the garden. Watch that the baby sunflower stems don't snap off !
July comes:
  1. watering
  2. weeding
  3. snailing
  4. stirring the compost
Come August:
  1. more watering in the heat
  2. more weeding in the hard dirt
  3. more fertilizing
  4. mulching to keep the moisture in
  5. time to put up fencing to keep the roughhousing dogs out!
6 months later see what you get!
~~~ Just Kidding!! ~~~

Here's October:

1 pumpkin

several sunflowers

3 bush beans

12 tomatoes

2 cucumbers

(it'd be cheaper to go to the grocery store, you'd think)

Good Try People!
Just wait until next Spring, just you wait!
