We come from monkeys...

Dear Charles Darwin,
Some people are messing with your theory.
.
I guess you're used to that. Over the years you've had many argumentative, scientific, quasi-research types expound on evolution. Now I noticed you did not say man descended from monkeys, you never said it. It made sense, but without today's fossil record, it was in fact just a puzzlement. But we are creative people and we like the spotlight so we ripped out the most daring ideas and plastered them exaggerated and back lit on front pages everywhere. We are SHOCKED and your conclusions whether you concluded them or not!
.
But as with anything new and not ethnically centrist, we have to sit in our muddle, arrogant and mystified until we find some string of thought fixed to our rigid minds. And we want you to know that: We are right. That's it! No argument!
.
The author below and others are wondering if perhaps apes are descended from us! Shall we be open minded? Mr. Darwin, are you willing to have crazy original thinkers test your own theories?!
.
By the way, scientists and researchers have the same human foibles that the rest of us common mechanics and teachers have. We like our foundations. Never leave rags in the oil pan and never let a spelling error go unnoticed! Well, one particular engine ran for ages with a rag in the oil pump and a bunch of kids learned to write cogently with misspellings.
I guess life, knowledge, tradition, facts and figures are nothing if not in flux.
.
"Be flexible, children!" we tell the students. We should maybe take our own advice. We could puzzle over the world.
.
I'm sure Sgnr. Galileo wished the Pope would have spent a bit more time pondering the placement of celestial bodies in heaven rather than faking his interest in the official "truth" of those bodies circling around our centrist earth. We do what we have to do to survive. Monkeys submit to the alpha leader, we live a lie.
.
In conclusion, dear Mr. Darwin, thanks for all your thinking. And thanks for the courage to let us know about it all.
.
I found a song for you. Silly. But then, we are humans and humans do tend to laugh and cry. I thought laughing about evolution might be preferable! So have a listen:
.
.
Sincerely,
J
