....
Well, to be inclusive let's be specific:
Some A's., a B., a D., a bunch of J's, an M., two S's. & a T. went to a party.
And what a party is was.
B. and J. showed up the night before.
(Beatle's song)
The planned fancy expensive dinner outting was scrapped. The roomates helped eat dessert for dinner because not only had T made a delicious breakfast in bed for the birthday girl, but he had also made a huge late lunch. Petite Fours
(or Party Forz as T calls them)
were served. Unfortunately the bonus teacup frosted cookies were gone by that point and were moot. By 8:00 pm June's stomach was pretty full!
In the morning one of the J's froze to death in the kitchen, reading the Sunday paper very early. Luckily he had on his toasty homeknit hat. Why the heat didn't go on has got me! Maybe daylight saving's time has screwed up the heater clock.
Then the other J got up after having slept in way to long. Grumbling with sleep she commenced to decorating. Pretty pink table cloth with pretty multi-colored napkins made of polyester so as to be rendered useless in case of a terrible spill, but working well wiping off jelly. Jelly sticks to them very well.
B and T got up and commenced to cheer up the place. Finally a big pot of coffee was made and tea was served. T made TTO: toast to tide them over. The OCCAISION was a breakfast party, but they knew it would be lunch time before eating.
Then the foursome thought of mystery names for the guests' placecards. Soon, here come the guests! And here come the choppers and chatters and washers and servers.
June, the birthday girl, sat around.
With new and old friends getting to know each other.
May didn't even have to whack the dog with her cane.
The dogs waited stage left, locked in the bedroom, emerging much later to eat crumbs under the table.
April and May put their things in the hall closet. B. did not and eventually forgot her favorite vest, which now is residing in the hall closet.
Many of June's favorite sisters showed up.The two S's got to meet and greet.
Figuring out personalized mystery names didn't go smoothly. One of the A's didn't quite figure out that Julia represented Julia Childs due to them both being chefs. The other A, April, was hard pressed to find herself in Frida, aka Kahlo, but June and B knew it was true. Dear friend S needed help to figure hers out, too, though Mt. Zion is her favorite place on earth. Well, Mt. Zion or Hawaii, it's a toss up. She and B wondered who was Month by Month as they both often deal with months by months. May was wondering who the heck Birds and Blooms was and it was herself as she loves the birds and the blooms. Tie Plate, CompGeek, Lenscap, Sandollar, guessed easily, the rascals, but I guess a tieplate is only known to the host and the guest. Lenscap, one of the J's, rolled her eyes. Who would have guessed? she said in a manner that could be considered similar to the lovely fish, the Sarcastic Fringehead, but do not read anything into the fringed-head part of the fish...although Snapshot does indeed have quite a head of hair. Sandollar crowed in delight. CompGeek was very polite.
Food:
June served scrambled eggs that her sister cooked.
June served tomato and avocado garnish that B sliced.
June served funny water that T distributed.
Then the meal.
Mmmmmmmmmm!
Then the presents.
Mmmmmmmmmm!
Then the clean up and pack up.
Lotsaelphelphelphelp!
Then the goodbyes.
