BIRD

The redshinned hawk lives next door. He sits on a wire overlooking his hunting grounds, searching for mice or birds.

Why are they majestic?
The slope of the shoulders,
the soft reds,
but especially the wise brow and the hook of the beak.

By now you know my fascination is boundless.
I can't help but watch.

This time I got the dive.
Next time I'll get the catch.
