A Little Critique, Please

I'm working on a painting.

My friend Augusta is so good at sketching.
She's got her perspective doowwwnn!
That woman can draw.

I sometimes need her.
Yeah, I need a critique, of course,
but I've got my dearheart here at home for that.
I love his critiques,
"I like it!"
Or if he doesn't,
"It needs something."
But I just ignore that,
unless I think he's right.
Which he is sometimes.

But Augusta's the one in times of trouble.
"Where's her neck?" she asks.
"I dunno,
I just drew and this is what I got."

"If this is the top of the head, hmmmm...
well is it?"
"I think so." I say.
"Well, if this is the top of the head,
and if this area is the shoulder,
then you might need some neck about here."

Good.
Draw it right on the canvas.
Thank you Augusta,
I just love your easy way.
You just see it.
You just know where necks are supposed to be.

When I'm at a loss
for real "professional" proportions,
I call on you.

But you are going a little too far when:
"This shoulder takes the arm off the canvas.
If you really want to get the forearm right,
you may want to tape on some paper
and draw the whole arm." she points out.

Oh yes, you are right friend.
But I won't. Too much work.
Just gimme the paintbrush.
No patience for that careful stuff.
But I think I will keep to watery glazes at first.
I like the charcoal lines, too.

Thanks.
Now, here's a vulture drawn with a computer.
Too much trouble if you ask me.
Just hand me the paint.
