What's Happening To Me?

Lending camping gear to the adult children
is enlightening.
When did we last use it?

"When did you last use this bunch of camping stuff?"
"There are old freeze-dried noodle soup packets eaten by mice.
Did you even wash the pots and pans before you packed it all up?"

Our last camping trip seems like yesterday to us both,
but the offspring find clues dating it back to 1988, possibly.

"What's this wrinkled note to Mom?"
"What year was that, anyway?!
When was your last camping trip?!"

We thought we took you guys to Expo, in Vancouver....
...was it last year or the year before?
Guess not, you were really little when we went.
Seems like last week.

Today's a Saturday.
I thought yesterday was Sunday.
Seems as if I was just counting the days until school was out,
but, today I'm counting the days until school starts!
Remember being 8 when the summer days crawwwwwled by?
Those days are over.

These weeks go by, zipppppppppp!
Time must be multidimensional.
That's the only way to explain this.
Or maybe it's the time bending locket
that Hermione used in Harry Potter.
It's gotta be that...
