Is Xeroxing a Verb?

Must be a verb,
cuz that's all I ever say about it.

I never say, "Do you have a Xerox?"
nor do I say,
"That's a nice Xerox you have?"

No, it's usually,
"I need to do some Xeroxing!"
Is that how you spell it?
or
"I need to Xerox some
dot-to-dots Hearts (by 5's!)
for my classroom."

Xeroxing is a handy skill.
I love it!! I love watching the magic pictures
come flapping out of the copier.

I can make them BIGGER!
I can make them smaller...
I can cut and paste!
I can make an infinite number of copes.
Ideally, anyway.

Real life scissors are best to cut and paste.
Oh, sure Photo Shop does a great job,
IF YOU WANT TO:
Spend ALL afternoon figuring out
how to work the damn thing,
Better work QUICKLY changing
canvas size, image size, contrast,
filters and color saturation.
HURRY, gotta finish, before the computer freezes!

Now attempt copying.
Photo Shop only wants the VERY BEST printing.
No Xeroxing for Photo Shop.
It'll use up all your ink to print a perfect copy.
Get ready to go to Staples.
And you know it's not staples that you need!

Back home with a new ink cartridge,
physically grab the scissors!
Cut out, paste pieces onto paper the way you want it!
Hands on!
Now you can Xerox quite efficiently.
Slap that baby down on the glass and push the buttons!
Here comes the exciting part, copies flying outta that thing!

If the copier jams or runs out of ink, paper, or common sense;
use the scanner on the computer!
Good idea! That should be a breeze!

Oh, yeah, sure.

Use the scanner to copy some document.
You can copy photos, drawings, objects, manuscripts...
well, documents anyway.
And photos come out ok, too.

Lay the original on the scanner glass.
Now find the 'Scanner Program", and good luck.
Figure out how to use the 'Scanner Program'.

It scans wonderfully!
See it on the computer screen, big as life!
Figure out how to save with the 'Scanner Program'!
Yes, the tricky part,
'SAVE'...
Where did the 'Scanner Program' save it?
Can't find it!
Is it in the 'blog folder'?
in 'shared documents'?,
in 'owner's pictures'?

No, it's lost in space!
And I think it's all Al Gore's fault.
He invented the computer didn't he?

The copier is jammed,
the printer is jammed and
the computer programs are down.
Give it up,
There are only a few ways to successfully Xerox,
But there are countless ways to screw up.
And I've done them all,
more than all actually.

I guess Xeroxing is not the best verb for me.
Why not just grab a pen and do it all freehand.
Now THAT sounds efficient.

Well, here are a 2 successful scan~copy~xerox~print pages for you.
I got 'em printed just before everything FROZE!
Print them out on your own computer.
And Good Luck to you!

Have fun coloring!
