He has 64 radios, old ones, pre~WWII tube radios.
No, "It's 68..." he mumbles from afar, lost in the radio room.
It used to be A's room, now it's FILLED with radios and radio parts.
And testers. And supplies of old tubes.
As the antiquated things are repaired,
they end up on the shelves in the living room, in the dining room,
and then on every possible surface available.
The reality is nowadays no one needs tubes in radios.
Actually, we don't need radios!
Get your iPods out!!
Get your phones and PDA's out!
Who needs a radio?!
Someone I happen to know.
His happiness drifts out of the radio room after 7:00 on Sunday nights.
Time for the Radio Shows.
Jazz and stories.
Low sultry ballads.
Who is as contented as a sweet sleeping retriever, testing tubes and soldering sockets?
