MY SISTER'S NEW ART BLOG

My sister came up Friday to spend the night.
We planned to eat her fancy Nachos~Delight ( << The TOWERING nachos became dinner.)
We also made plans to make artsy Christmas cards,
watch old movies, eat candy and popcorn until we were sick and probably fall asleep on the couch during the films.
Our plans were successful!

The next morning we both woke up very early and tiptoed out to the living room,
What a surprise; the other sister was up, too!

We watched early morning tv. (nothing on!)
Left the tv on while we ate leftover cookies and red vines for breakfast in the kitchen.
We finally started in on the homemade Christmas cards.
Scissors flashing, snipping ~ construction paper, tissue paper, and old Christmas cards. Acrylics and water color dripping all over everything while we stamped our potato prints. (stars, Christmas trees, a landscapes with a setting sun). Glitter was everywhere, glue was sticking to on the the table, supplies, and cards. Soon glitter was sticking to the glitter glue!

Intermittent hysterical laughter and raucous guffawing rolled through the house.
Tears flowed down our faces and we doubled over, stomachs aching from laughter!

Exhausted, we took a drive down the country road to see my Christmas Nativity at a farm with live animals. Surprisingly we caught sight of the shy neighborhood characters. One was seen climbing out of a ditch in the pouring rain with dark sunglasses on, carrying a plastic bag. Another was stepping around the welded metal junk pouring out of his driveway, dangerously close to the street.

A dual sighting! Unheard of.

When we got home, we set up a cool blog for my sister.
She needed something online in order to share her wonderful paintings,
and to begin the process of selling.

My sister quietly worked on her blog.

I looked over at my Christmas cards.
Odd, but pretty; messy, but cute; different, but fun. Awfully few after hours of effort.
Setting up my sister's blog made me look at that wild table with new eyes.
Painting is much more satisfying.
I have a talent that is being hidden away under the effort of amateur crafty messes.

It's time to paint, I believe.
