Half the Chocolate

What a sweet neighbor we have.

She dropped by Sunday with a Christmas gift for us and what a gift it was!

A big Christmasy ceramic Santa-boot cookie jar.
Dabbed with silvery touches, the little toys and presents cling on in 3-D, tipping out of the top.

And that's not all.

Inside this cookie jar we find 17 kinds of cookies, 14 kinds of candy (peanut brittle, white chocolate bark with cranberries and pistachios) and fudge, Reese's peanut butter cups, and peanut turtles!

But we're not done!

There is another GALLON- size ziplock bag FULL of more goodies.

The thing is, well, I don't understand why the cookie jar is empty...
I just want acknowledgement for the fact that I, myself, only ate 1/2 of the chocolate and only 2 /7's of the cookies and candy.
Let's get that straight.

That's o.k. I'll just fill it up with the second bag of yummies.

It's true that I am having sweets for breakfast, lunch and dinner (nuts are good protein! there were walnuts in the brownies, and almonds in the biscotti).
On the upside I had leftover meatloaf for desert, so I'm good.

But there is more to come.

This dear and wonderful neighbor has given us another wrapped gift.
It's under the tree.
We'll open it Christmas Eve.
Just one thing...
I have a feeling that it may be a cute little tray.
Maybe a tray for cookies or candy...and I'm unsure if they'll be any left.
Maybe Santa Claus will bring more luscious stuff.
For the tray.
Not for me, but for the festive tray.

I do know there is always next Christmas.
And that's good enough for us.
The sugar high is getting a little out of control.
Maybe it would be a good idea to fast today.

Naahhhhhhh!
