All the wrong birds in all the wrong places.

I don't know what's come over the ravens,
but they've taken over!

We've lost some mourning doves this summer.
It's terribly sad
because doves mate for life
so there are lonely linger-ers at the feeders.

We've lost hawks.
There were always large families in the back eucalyptus grove.
I've seen the ravens hassle the hawks.
I've seen them hassle the turkey vultures.
I worry because I expect they have hassled the mockingbirds and jays right outta here!

Haven't seen them much this summer.

But then there is the quail population boom!
And of the 3o or so babies born, about 27 are still around fat as can be.
They never stop eating, chip, chip, chipping at us if we hang around the front.

See how they ALL try to fit into the bowl!

HEY!
ONLY ROOM FOR ONE AT A TIME!

Have some manners for heaven's sake!
