Baby Babbling

An old post revisited:

Babies babble because they're practicing.
Takes them a while,
but in a few years
they've got a big vocabulary
and pretty darn good grammar and sentence structure.
Not to mention, their clever little witticisms.

I wonder if baby birds and animals go through the same progress?
