Pup's Tennis Ball

Mr. Pup,
or if you prefer to call him by his Biblical name
Solomon,
loves his tennis ball.

The trouble is he doesn't want to let it go 
and it's tough to play fetch if he won't let go.
 

And true fetch is: 
I'll bring it to you and you'll throw it.
Hard to play when someone won't let you have the ball.

And even then, there must be a short waiting period before you can pick it up again.
Ears alert, eyes wide; here comes the throw!
And he's off one more time!

I think he must miss Holly.
There is no dog to chase HIM while he chases the tennis ball.
