Photographing the beaches from a tall hotel in Hawaii, Richard Misrach created a series of huge, rich beachscapes.

Misrach began these large scale pieces after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. There is an air of disquiet pervading his images.
The landscapes have an eerie self awareness. The show will be at the Henry Art Gallery in Seattle October - January.
