A New Saddle

Now it's official.
I have my own brand new saddle.

Wow, quite a big purchase for an amateur rider.
I only ride for fun, I never plan to show or compete, doesn't interest me.

Yesterday T talked me into buying a brand new saddle!

I have an old one I bought cheap...so I didn't need a new one, not to mention a NEW, new one....they're too expensive!!

There we were in a saddle and supply shop, big sale, and T motions me over to look at the saddles.
I always avoid looking at saddles because I'd never spend that kind of money for just doing fun stuff...and anyway, I DON'T need a NEW saddle, so I shook my head and went to find boots I've been needing, on sale (yay). Then T drags me over to the saddles. I never purchase anything at that high price so I frowned, grumbling, "I don't see the point. " Oddly enough, I end up trying out a couple of saddles.

It's pretty exiting, but a ridiculous idea.

The saleswomen were very kind and helpful, educating us about saddles, patiently getting one heavy saddle after another.

One was pretty darn comfortable, so T says, "Let's get it!"

He was so excited,
and buys it WITH, my new boots, some socks and a really nice vest.

He buys all of it.

And today I am miserable.
The old voices:
"You don't deserve it, you'll just ruin it, you shouldn't spend so much money,
you probably made a big mistake."

By noon, I'm ashamed and anxious.

But then I remember something important.
Exercise makes me feel much better.
I love horses and I love riding,
and I love hanging out at the ranch...lot's of interesting stuff going on there. And somehow I get my anxious self up and moving, like a zombie.
Get the saddle into the car, drive to the ranch, get going.

Well, guess what?

I LLLLLLOOOOOOVVVVVVEEE my new NEW saddle!

It's lighter, I can actually get it onto the horse easily.
It's more comfortable, the stirrup leathers are flexible so
I can actually get my feet in and out with ease!

So now I'm loving my new saddle, not judging myself for all the frantic worry. That's just the way I am. Today I snapped out of it faster than ever. Be thankful and enjoy the gift. And love the generous giver who gladly supports this rider.

YEE HAW!
