How can a duck decoy be valuable?
Old ones cuz they're old...
handcarved ones cuz they're one of a kind...
plastic ones realistically painted in China...probably not.
Click below for an over $500,000 duck decoy!
We raised baby mallard ducks when I was a girl...
Rescuing them from cats, dogs, fish, hawks etc.
The ducklings lived in a box with warm lights attached.
And newspaper to poop on.
Sometimes...
they lived in the bathtub...
easy to keep track of,
easy to clean up after,
easy for ducklings to learn floating skills...etc.
(doncha just love "etc."...it often gets the writer off the hook!)
Here are some baby ducky faces
having a mashy snack...

The first time my daughter(s) and I went to your house - there were ducks in the wee backyard.
I thought 'How cute'.
You said to watch out for the duck poop. We did.
I thought 'How good of her to warn us'.
You gave us snackies and the kids played.
I thought 'This family is nice'.
