Today Is Monday

Today is Monday
That is all I know.

Oh, I ALSO know it is November 20, 2006 because each morning the students go over the calendar during circle time:

"Hey! I want to be the calendar person! Ohhhhhhh, I never get to be! When is it ever going to be MY turn!? Phooey!" is the standard response from other children after the "Calendar Person of the Day" is chosen.

"Hey, I'M the line leader today, Hey! Teacher! Teacher! He's in front of me and I'M the line leader! That's not fair! Hey, she's cutting!!" is the standard response of the "The line leader of the Day" after recess.

"HEY, I wanted to use that ball, I wanted it first! He already had a ball and now he's taking MINE, the one I picked. No Fair!" is the standard response before P.E.

"HEY, STUDENTS! NO WHINING!" is MY silent response when my sanity is unraveling. Please, dear students, be responsible, respectful and attentive so I can serve you.

Nevermind, dear students.
I know you're all TRYING to do your best.
And your turn to learn.
~ "I am always ready to learn,
but I do not always like being taught." ~
Sir Winston Churchill
