Amazing Assisi!Downstairs in the Basilica of San Francesco, hang the robes of St. Francis and St. Clare; rough like burlap, utter simplicity. In contrast, the rich frescos by Giotto! We lit candles in the lower Basilica and sat praying for simplicity.
